Choosing the perfect colors for your artwork has never been easier. With Procreate 5 you can now pick your colors even faster using the Color Harmony tool. This feature automatically chooses color combinations for you based on your specific color needs.

Instead of searching the internet for the perfect color palette you can use Color Harmony to play around with tons of different color combinations with the tap of your finger.

1. Tap on the round colored circle in the top right of your toolbar

This opens up your Colors Panel. This is where everything you’ll ever need to do regarding your color selections happens.

2. Tap on the ‘Harmony’ icon

It is at the bottom center of the Colors panel. Tap to select it. It will turn blue if you’ve selected it correctly.

3. Under the Colors heading, tap ‘Complementary’

You will see the big bold heading that says ‘Colors’ and right below it you will see a smaller text that says ‘Complementary’. Tap your finger on ‘Complementary’.

4. A dialogue box will pop up for more color options

Complementary: opposite colors on the color disc

Split Complementary: one color and two neighboring colors to its compliment

Analogous: three adjacent colors

Triadic: three equally spaced colors on the color disc

Tetradic: two complimentary color pairs

5. Select a color option

Depending on the look you want for your artwork depends on which color option you choose. Pick any of the 5 options in step 4.

6. Drag color dots

You can drag the dots anywhere on the disc to see different color combinations.

7. Select each color individually and add it to your color palette

Once you have found your perfect color combination select each dot one at a time and add it to your color palette by tapping on one of the blank grey boxes in your palette.
