Procreate 5X came with an unbelievably amazing new feature called Palette Capture. This tool comes with a few different options that are going to help you make more complex color palettes for your design work! Let’s walk thru all that this great new tool has to offer.

Let’s get started.

1. GO TO THE COLOR PANEL

You can access this by tapping on the round circle in the top right of your screen on your toolbar.

2. SELECT PALETTES

You should be seeing a few different categories at the bottom of your color panel window. Find the one that says Palettes and tap that.

3. TAP ON ‘+’ IN TO RIGHT

Now you are in the Palettes window. There is a ‘+’ on your top right. Tap that to access Palette Capture.

4. CHOOSE AN OPTION

Create new palette: You already know what this does. It makes a new blank color palette for you.

New from camera: This is new with 5X. You can take a photo of anything in real time and Procreate Capture turns it into a palette for you!

New from file: This is where you import .swatches Palette files you buy from designers. I actually sell them in my online shop HERE.

New from photos: This is new with 5X. Choose any photo from your camera roll and Procreate Capture turns it into its own unique palette.

5. SCROLL DOWN TO FIND NEW PALETTE

Once done importing the palettes you need you can find them all the way at the bottom of your palettes window!
