Custom color palettes are extremely popular amongst Procreate designers. These palettes save so much time when creating artwork and working on large projects. The days of tediously hand-picking every little color from your Color Disc are over! With custom color palettes you can get right to designing immediately! Today, I’m going to show you how to use custom color palettes in your projects.
Let’s get started!
Procreate color palettes are available to purchase on sites such as Etsy and Creative Market. I sell my palettes on both of those platforms and in my online shop HERE.
Not sure how to import your color palette? No worries. Check out my tutorial on how to import a palette you purchased or create one from a photo HERE.
You can draw your artwork in black and then add color at the end or add color as you go along with SwatchDrop. This method allows you to first focus on your overall composition before adding color and dimension. I do this all the time!
Go to your Color Panel in the top right of your toolbar. Then tap on the ‘Palettes’ category. Find the palette you want. Start using your apple pencil to drop your swatches into your artwork!
That’s all there is to it!
