Stacking canvases in Procreate is a huge timesaver. Before that feature was released I was spending way too much time scrolling trying to find canvases in my gallery. But, what happens when you want to unstack a bunch of canvases you’ve already stacked? It can be a little tricky to figure out how to do this. Luckily, I’m here to help. Let’s get started.

1. Tap On Existing Stack

This opens up the Stack so you can see every canvas that is inside of it. After that, take a moment and figure out which canvases you want to take out of this stack.

2. Tap and Hold Canvas you want to Unstack and move it to the left

Keep holding down on that canvas. It’s very important to not let go or you’ll have to start the whole process over again. Make sure to move the canvas a little to the left or the right with your finger so Procreate knows you are trying to move it.

3. Drag Canvas over folder Name in the top left corner

While holding down the canvas just drag it over the Name of your folder. Doing this will drop that canvas out of your stack for good and put it by itself in your Gallery.

4. To Unstack multiple Canvas’ repeat steps 1 & 2

While holding the canvas take the finger on your opposite hand and tap all other canvases you want to to be unstacked. Make sure not to let go of your canvases. If you are doing this correctly, you should be seeing a blue number appear in the corner of the canvases you’re currently holding down. That number is the number of canvases you are about to unstack.

5. Repeat step 3 and you’re done!

That’s it! You can practice the steps as much as you want so you won’t forget how to do it.
